Congratulations to Brian Ball and Michele DeVries for winning the Male and Female Divisions of the Junior Gold Qualifier held within the 46th Championship tournament.  There were twenty-nine (29) bowlers who participated.  The total included seventeen males and twelve females.  As such, three males and two females have earned spots in the Gold Championships.

Since this Qualifier advances 1:5 bowlers from each Division to the 2010 Junior Gold National Championships, being held July 10-16, 2010 in Indianapolis, IN, joining Brian and Michele will be:

  • Kathi-Lynn Pincus
  • Jerel Rodriguez
  • Brandon Burwell
The Qualifier advances 1:5 bowlers without using a major fraction.  We are required to insure all prize monies  collected are returned 100%.  In accord with the Qualifier rules, remaining funds would be disbursed split by the winners and deposited in their USBC SMART accounts.  Resultant, Michele and Kathi-Lynn will each have $30 deposited and Brian, Jerel, and Brandon will each have $20 deposited into their respective SMART accounts.

Should one of the five bowlers win a spot from a Gold Premier event, you are required to notify fryebowling@fryebowling.com with the pertinent details.  Once confirmed, the first alternate based on the overall standings in each division would receive the returned spot.

The NJ State USBC Youth Bowling Association congratulates all of the bowlers who participated and wish good bowling to those who journey to Indianapolis.

Frye returns as State Tournament Manager
Coach Jeff Frye will be the Manager for the 2009 NJ State Youth Championship Tournament.  Frye managed the 2007 Championships, which issued over $8,300 in scholarship money, and is looking forward to another awesome tournament in 2009.

The NJ State Youth Bowling Association established October 18, 24-25 as the tournament dates.

The 2008 tournament was moved from December to October for a number of positive reasons.  The turn out was good but some may have not seen the posters or fliers in their local centers and missed this opportunity.
